Docks and Quays

Lisboa has four docks and three cruise terminals, on the north bank of the Tagus between Belém and Santa Apolónia, managed by APL - the Port of Lisbon Administration.

The redevelopment of the riverside area of the city, begun in the 1990's, was intended to open up the riverside to the public without losing the port. The process has included restoring the architectural heritage associated with the area’s industrial and port activities, and improvement of the docks and quays. At the same time, new cultural and leisure facilities have been developed.
